The Vampire Bat (1933) – Public Domain
59 min 44 sec – Aug 3, 2007
The Vampire Bat is an old film that, at the time, put a new spin on the vampire story. Just what that spin is I can’t say without spoiling the film for those who might want to watch it. If you do decide to watch it, keep an eye out for Fay Wray, who plays Ruth Burtin – you can’t miss her, she’s in every other scene. Classic film buffs might remember Fay from, amongst other things, the original King Kong. Fay really shines in this film, as does Dwight Frye as Herman Gleib, the gaunt and creepy looking guy with an unhealthy obsession with bats.
